Blessed to the max: There's power in the Testimony

I haven't really had much time to post a blog lately. I can't begin to express to my followers (All Four of you) how blessed I am. At the start of the year I began a new career as a financial planner and I love my job and the people I work with. Amber and I are only 12 weeks or so away from meeting our baby girl and We couldn't be more excited! God has continually proven faithful in every aspect of my life. Through every tear, worry, fear, or regret he just shows out and proves how great he really is. Despite all opposition, I have a beautiful marriage (and wife), a comfortable home, my first child who has already stolen my heart prior to arrival, and a great spiritual family and support system. There is much power in the testimony of God's people. We really don't stop and take enough time to let people know what he has done in our lives as often as we should. It's boasting in our weakness when he receives the glory for every showing of strength. Without his Grace and Guidance none of the things I testify about could have been possible. So tell me what God has done for you lately? Never forget the power that's in the testimony! :)

WHY DO TEENS DROP OUTTA CHURCH - A RESEARCH PROJECT

About a year ago I sent out several survey letters and emails to Pastors/Youth leaders around the country and had them weigh in on the things that cause teens to either stay or go from the church when they get outta highschool. I'm reviving this project. Here are the questions and some top answers.. PLEASE WEIGH IN on this! It's that important!

Questions: What age were you when you moved out of your parent/guardians house?
Did you continue faithfully in church when you moved out? Why or why not?
Did the church you attended as a child have an active children's and youth ministry?
What was your favorite part about church as a child/teenager?
What did you dislike most about church as a child/teenager?
For those who stayed- Who made the greatest impact on you staying faithful in the church?
Did you feel like a vital part of the Church growing up?

Tell us your story! We may can use it to impact the lives of others!

POPULAR ANSWERS and statements from me:
1. I remember as a child being bored during the sermon, because I did not understand the depth of the sermons. As a teenager, it was the song service. I hate to say this, but I rarely paid any attention to the preacher. (This is a big issue. Are we as leaders teaching over the heads of the people in the pews at times? How do we fix this... How do we make our sermons relevant enough to keep attention, yet deep enough to aid in spiritual growth!?)

2. My leaders at summer youth camp had a big impact on me staying church and encouraging my relationship with God to grow. I always drew strength from summer camp and looked forward to it every year. (This is great!! So how do we keep that summer camp experience fresh in our local youth groups? Ages old Challenge)

3. They leave because of no real connection with the church. They are not in youth anymore and aren't ready for the adult world. So the world they live in is where they choose to connect and where they make their life choices. (This speaks volumes for itself).

MORE TO COME ON THIS LATER>> Again take the time to leave some feedback please!

An Old Post of mine... Great Topic for dicussion though! Weigh in!

Reading an article and I quote "joel osteen never preaches on the condemnation of Jesus.... Reading the bible and I quote again. "you know not what spirit you are of. The son of man came not to condemn the world but to save it." Said article also states that pastor osteen is "no man of God!" last time I checked Satan wasn't out winning souls to Christ. We are so quick to judge another mans ministry because it's not the way we would do things. I use the Lakewood Pastor as an example because he's well known, but this PROBLEM is everywhere. I've seen ministers that I know personally looked down upon because they didn't fit the mold or formula of what others thought "ministry" should be like.

What do you think about this? Are these mega church pastors selling out or are they doing the best they can to be led of the Lord?

Just getting started!..... Again

Hi Everyone,

Been awhile since I have done any type of blogging! Maybe I can commit this time? Hopefully I have something to say that's maybe worth reading. I'm not really sure of what topic to tackle first, but I'm sure I'll figure it out! God's always doing cool things in my life that other people might like to hear about! Check back with me from time to time!
